Question 1

Seed viability means the ability of a seed to ____.

Accepted Answer

germinate and produce a normal seedling under suitable conditions

Question 2

Mature seeds should be collected from ____.

Question 3

After collection, seeds should be labelled with crop, variety, and ____.

Accepted Answer

collection date

Question 4

Damaged or diseased seeds should be removed because they may have ____.

Accepted Answer

poor viability or carry infection

Question 5

What is seed dormancy?

Accepted Answer

a condition in which a viable seed fails to germinate despite suitable conditions

Question 6

Dormancy breaking is treatment used to ____.

Accepted Answer

enable a dormant viable seed to germinate

trained supervision

Question 16

After acid treatment, seeds must be ____.
