Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike has extended its 2026/2027 supplementary admission registration to October 12, 2026, reversing the timetable in its earlier notice which had expressly stated that there would be no extension.
The university’s original AE-FUNAI supplementary admission announcement, published in September, set a September 25 deadline and ended with the warning, “There will be no extension.” The university’s current website now carries a fresh extension notice, while the live application portal gives a new closing time of 11:59pm on October 12.
The supplementary exercise is for candidates who applied for admission to AE-FUNAI but have not yet been offered admission. The university says candidates are eligible whether or not they registered for its Post-UTME, provided they scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME and meet the subject requirements for the programme they want.
Available programmes span Agriculture, Education, Arts, Environmental Sciences, Management Sciences, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences. The list includes Agribusiness and Management, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Soil Science, Crop Science, Animal Science, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Geography and Climate Change, Theatre Arts, English, Fine and Applied Arts, French, Linguistics, Music, History and Strategic Studies, Philosophy, Banking and Finance, Public Administration, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Applied Geophysics, Physics, Economics, Political Science, Sociology and Psychology, among others.
Most of the advertised programmes carry a minimum screening score of 150. Anatomy and Physiology are listed at 160, and the university’s table also assigns a higher threshold to some Biological Sciences options. Candidates should use the live portal’s programme requirements rather than relying on a general 150 score when choosing a course.
AE-FUNAI requires candidates to consider both their UTME subject combination and O’Level subjects before applying. Anyone changing into one of the advertised programmes must also effect the corresponding Change of Course on JAMB CAPS so that the university-side application and JAMB record agree.
The supplementary registration fee is ₦5,000. Candidates begin at apply.funai.edu.ng, validate their profile with the JAMB registration number, provide a working email address and phone number, verify the email with an OTP and follow the payment and registration instructions generated by the portal.
The current portal specifically instructs applicants to complete payment using the account details generated within the official process and then return to confirm payment and finish registration. Candidates should not transfer the fee to an account supplied through WhatsApp or an unofficial admission agent.
The university’s earlier notice lists info@funai.edu.ng and the phone numbers 07031810065, 08120454195 and 08038099920 for support during working hours. The live application platform separately displays 07033902120 and funai@attesta.africa for portal support.
For candidates who assumed the opportunity had ended after the September notice, the significant development is that the official deadline has now changed. The form is live again through October 12, but admission will still depend on the advertised programme requirements and the candidate’s JAMB record.
