The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has released the June/July NABTEB 2026 results, with a major increase in candidates meeting the five-credit benchmark that includes English Language and Mathematics. Of the 97,863 candidates graded, 79,503 achieved five credits and above including the two subjects, representing 81.24 per cent.
That compares with 68.18 per cent in the 2025 examination, when 61,104 candidates achieved the same benchmark. NABTEB Registrar and Chief Executive Officer Dr Aminu Mohammed described the improvement as encouraging and linked it to the combined efforts of candidates, teachers, schools, parents and the wider education system.

The Wider Result Numbers
A total of 100,069 candidates registered for the 2026 National Business Certificate and National Technical Certificate examinations, while 97,867 sat, producing an attendance rate of 97.80 per cent. NABTEB also reported that 89,580 candidates, or 91.53 per cent of those graded, obtained five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.
Another important figure is the number of candidates certified as craftsmen: 24,128, representing 24.65 per cent of those graded. That statistic reflects the distinctive role of NABTEB examinations. NBC and NTC qualifications are not simply another version of a general secondary-school certificate; they are tied to business, technical, practical and occupational competencies that can support work or further education.
The Board also disclosed that 847 candidates were involved in 1,554 examination-malpractice incidents. NABTEB said this represented 1.55 per cent of candidates who sat and was lower than the previous year. The results were released 52 days after the final paper.
Candidates Should Check Only Through NABTEB’s Official Result System
NABTEB warned candidates against fraudsters who claim they can alter or upgrade legitimate examination results. Candidates should use the Board’s recognised result-checking platform and approved result PIN process. Anyone who encounters a genuine problem should seek help from NABTEB rather than handing personal examination details to an unofficial agent.
Candidates using the NBC or NTC for further education should compare their actual subjects and grades with the entry requirements of the intended programme. The headline five-credit figure is useful nationally, but admission depends on the specific combination a candidate obtained.
The NABTEB 2026 results therefore show both stronger headline performance and the continuing importance of technical and vocational pathways. For successful candidates, the next decision may be employment, apprenticeship, advanced technical certification or progression into higher education.
The full NABTEB 2026 result picture
NABTEB’s June/July 2026 NBC/NTC results cover more than a headline pass rate. A total of 100,069 candidates registered and 97,867 sat the examination. Of the candidates graded, 79,503 obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics, representing 81.24%. Another 89,580 candidates, or 91.53%, obtained five credits and above with or without English and Mathematics. NABTEB also said 24,128 candidates were certified as craftsmen, reflecting the practical and occupational focus of the NBC/NTC route.
The malpractice figure also matters: NABTEB reported 847 candidates involved in 1,554 examination-malpractice incidents. Candidates should therefore use only the Board’s official result system and ignore anyone promising to “upgrade” grades. The result you see on the official platform is the record that institutions and employers can verify.
How to check NABTEB 2026 results step by step
The official online result service is NABTEB eWorld. Before opening it, have the candidate number, examination type, examination year, scratch-card serial number and the result-checking PIN ready.
- Open NABTEB eWorld Result Checker.
- Enter the candidate identification/examination number exactly as issued by NABTEB.
- Select the correct examination type. For the result released in September 2026, candidates who sat the in-school June/July NBC/NTC should select the corresponding examination diet rather than Nov/Dec.
- Choose 2026 as the examination year.
- Enter the card serial number and the result-checking PIN from a valid NABTEB eWorld card, then submit the request.
- When the result loads, save a copy and print it if it is needed for admission, employment or school records.
NABTEB explains that its eWorld PIN is a unique code attached to a valid result-checking card. Candidates who still need a PIN should begin from the official NABTEB website, which provides links for the result checker, Remita payments and purchase of result-checking PINs. Do not buy a PIN from a random social-media account.
A candidate who has five credits should still check the exact subjects. Admission requirements are course-specific; the national 81.24% figure does not tell an individual candidate whether the required English, Mathematics, science, commercial or technical subjects were obtained. NBC/NTC candidates should compare the actual grades with the next programme or employment requirement.
