Candidates who sat the Obafemi Awolowo University 2026 Post-UTME screening can now check their screening scores, bringing the university’s physical screening exercise to its next major stage. The OAU Post-UTME 2026 results became available as the rescheduled exercise concluded on September 30.

OAU had moved the screening from its earlier September 1–5 window to September 25–30 and required candidates to appear physically at their assigned dates and times. Education admission platforms began reporting the result release on September 30, while OAU’s official e-portal currently exposes its screening-test result-checking system. Candidates should use the university’s own portal rather than submit JAMB details to unofficial result sites.

A Post-UTME Score Is Not an Admission Offer

Seeing a screening score does not mean the candidate has already been admitted. OAU still has to process eligible applicants against programme requirements and available spaces, while JAMB remains the national clearing house for admissions. Candidates should therefore continue checking JAMB CAPS and OAU’s official admission channels after viewing the screening result.

Applicants should keep their JAMB registration number, screening credentials and result information secure. Where a score appears unexpectedly missing or inaccessible, the first step should be to confirm that the correct portal and credentials are being used. OAU has repeatedly warned candidates against admission and Post-UTME agents and directs enquiries through official university channels.

Candidates should also make sure their O’Level result and other admission data are in order. A strong Post-UTME score cannot cure an incorrect subject combination or missing required credit. Applicants who were awaiting NECO results should verify that the necessary result data are available for admission processing where required.

What Candidates Should Watch Next

The next important signs on JAMB CAPS may include a transfer approval, admission in progress or a formal admission offer. Candidates should read any transfer proposal carefully before accepting it because it may involve movement from the original course to another programme for which the university can offer admission.

Applicants should ignore social-media claims that a certain score automatically guarantees admission unless OAU publishes a programme-specific rule supporting that conclusion. Admission depends on the university’s approved criteria, programme competition and the candidate’s complete record.

For candidates who have been waiting since the physical screening, the immediate task is to check the OAU Post-UTME 2026 results, keep evidence of the score and continue monitoring both OAU and JAMB CAPS until the admission exercise is concluded.

What OAU required for the 2026 screening exercise

OAU’s official 2026 admission screening notice covered UTME candidates who made the university their first choice and scored 200 and above, as well as Direct Entry applicants. The university charged a ₦2,000 screening fee excluding portal access charges and required candidates to present themselves physically for the Post-UTME screening at the designated locations.

The university’s registration procedure required candidates to use the OAU admissions portal, verify details with the JAMB Registration Number, email and phone number, and follow the payment/screening instructions. OAU repeatedly warned applicants that false information or incorrect credentials could lead to automatic disqualification and that the university does not endorse admission agents.

How to check the screening result and what comes after it

  1. Use OAU’s official Post-UTME/ePortal result login or the current admissions ePortal provided by the university.
  2. Enter the requested candidate credentials and view/save the screening score.
  3. Do not treat the score as an admission letter. The screening score is one input into the admission process.
  4. Continue monitoring JAMB CAPS for Transfer Approval, Admission in Progress or a final admission offer.
  5. Check the OAU website/ePortal for university-specific admission lists, programme changes or reporting instructions.

OAU’s official screening advert also directs all enquiries to the university’s Post-UTME support channel rather than agents. A candidate with a strong screening score can still be affected by a missing O’Level upload, an incorrect subject combination or programme capacity. Conversely, a candidate should not assume that an unofficial “cut-off” circulating on social media guarantees or rules out admission unless OAU publishes it.

If CAPS proposes a transfer to another programme, read it carefully. A programme transfer can be part of the legitimate admission process when the original course is unavailable but the candidate qualifies for another. Only accept a transfer after confirming that it is a course you are willing and eligible to study.
