The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has handed thousands of candidates with unresolved old admission offers a final window to clean up their records. Under the latest JAMB admission deadline, candidates with outstanding offers from the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 admission years now have until November 30, 2026 to log into the Central Admissions Processing System and either accept or reject the offer.
The extension is more than another routine date change. JAMB says admission offers from those years that are still neither accepted nor rejected after November 30 will revert to “Not Admitted” on its records. Any later request to update such an old admission record may also attract the applicable penalty fee. The new date followed the temporary unavailability of CAPS for about 96 hours, which JAMB said justified giving affected candidates additional time.

Why an Old Admission Offer Can Still Matter Years Later
Some candidates completed their studies without properly regularising the admission shown on JAMB’s system, while others moved to another institution or programme and simply ignored an older offer. That can become a serious problem later because JAMB’s records are used to confirm legitimate admission history. Candidates whose admission is not properly reflected may encounter problems when trying to obtain an admission letter, confirm their status on the matriculation list or complete processes connected with the National Youth Service Corps.
JAMB has also clarified an important point for candidates who have since moved on. A candidate may accept an outstanding previous admission and later apply for the appropriate correction or deletion where necessary. Candidates who received a 2026 admission while an older offer is still pending can reject the old offer without automatically destroying the newer admission. The key instruction is not to leave the old offer sitting unattended on CAPS.
Affected candidates should sign into JAMB e-Facility, open CAPS and inspect their admission status carefully. Do not rely only on what a school portal displayed years ago. If CAPS still shows an outstanding admission offer, make a deliberate decision to accept or reject it before the deadline. Candidates should also confirm that their names, institution, programme and admission year are correct before taking action.
What to Do Before November 30
If an old offer is accepted, the candidate should proceed to confirm that the admission letter can be generated and that the admission appears correctly in JAMB’s records. Where the candidate later changed institution or programme, the appropriate JAMB correction process should be followed rather than assuming the system will fix itself. Candidates who are unsure whether an old admission is genuine should contact JAMB through official support channels instead of paying an agent to manipulate CAPS.
The warning is especially important because many candidates may assume that a 2021 or 2022 admission is too old to matter. JAMB’s latest directive shows otherwise. The Board is giving a final administrative window to settle outstanding admission records, and candidates who wait until after November 30 could lose the ability to deal with the offer under the current arrangement.
For anyone who received admission between 2021 and 2025 but never clearly accepted or rejected it on CAPS, the safest step is simple: check now. The JAMB admission deadline is November 30, and the consequence JAMB has stated is equally clear — unresolved offers will revert to “Not Admitted.”
Who is affected by JAMB’s November 30 final window
The deadline applies to candidates with outstanding admission offers from the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025 admission exercises that remain neither accepted nor rejected on CAPS. JAMB says November 30, 2026 is the final date to act under the current window after CAPS was temporarily unavailable for about 96 hours.
JAMB has been explicit about the consequence: an outstanding offer left untouched after November 30 will revert to “Not Admitted” on the Board’s records. A later request to update an old admission record after the deadline will attract the applicable penalty fee. The exercise is also intended to clean up admission records for candidates whose legitimate admissions are not properly reflected on the JAMB matriculation system.
The Board has clarified two important scenarios. A candidate who moved to another institution or programme can deal with the previous outstanding admission and later use the appropriate correction/deletion process where applicable. A candidate who has already received a 2026 admission but still has an old admission offer can reject the older offer without automatically damaging the current 2026 admission.
How to check and act on the old admission offer
- Log in through JAMB e-Facility.
- Open the admission-status service and enter CAPS.
- Inspect the outstanding offer and confirm the admission year, institution and programme before taking action.
- If the admission is the legitimate admission you want JAMB to retain, select Accept and follow the service for printing/obtaining the admission letter where available.
- If the old offer is no longer the admission you want, select Reject where appropriate and then verify that the current/new admission record remains correct.
- If the case involves a complex historical change of institution/programme or an undisclosed admission, use JAMB’s official support route or an accredited CBT centre rather than paying a social-media intermediary.
This clean-up matters for more than the word “Admitted” on a screen. Candidates whose admission is not correctly documented can later face problems obtaining the JAMB admission letter, appearing on the matriculation list or completing NYSC-related processes. Anyone with a 2021–2025 admission history should therefore check CAPS even if the person already graduated or moved on.
