University of Lagos Direct Entry candidates who have not completed their 2026/2027 application have until Tuesday, October 6, 2026. UNILAG’s latest extension means the UNILAG Direct Entry 2026 portal is now in its final day, and candidates who fail to complete and submit the university-side application may not be considered.
The extension applies to candidates who already chose UNILAG as first choice in the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry application. It does not replace the JAMB DE application; it is the university’s own required registration and screening submission.
Eligibility, Fee and Documents
UNILAG says eligible candidates must have made the university their first choice through JAMB Direct Entry and must possess five relevant O’Level credits at one sitting, including English Language and Mathematics. Candidates who will not be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026 are not eligible.
The university-side Direct Entry application fee is ₦3,500. UNILAG also requires candidates to upload the relevant higher qualification used for Direct Entry. Depending on the applicant, that may include a first degree, HND, OND, SDA, JUPEB, Cambridge A-Level, NCE, NFLV diploma, MUSON diploma, ABRSM, Trinity College London qualification, Baccalaureate or DELF/DALF result, alongside the applicable O’Level record.
Names, date of birth, state of origin, local government area and other personal details should be consistent across JAMB and uploaded credentials. Applicants should correct genuine discrepancies through the proper issuing authority rather than submit conflicting records and hope they will be ignored.
How to Complete the UNILAG Direct Entry Application
- Open the official UNILAG Applications Portal.
- Click Start New Application.
- Select Undergraduate as the application type.
- Login with your Direct Entry JAMB registration number as username and your surname in lowercase as password.
- Generate and print the payment advice, then pay through the approved online route or a commercial bank.
- Return to the portal and select Continue Application.
- Complete the application form and upload the relevant Direct Entry qualification(s) and O’Level result.
- Use Preview to check every entry before submission.
- Click Submit and print the Direct Entry Application Slip for your records.
Starting a form is not the same as submitting it. Candidates who paid earlier but never returned to upload credentials, preview and submit should log in now and confirm the final application status.
For application help, UNILAG lists deapplication@unilag.edu.ng and the phone numbers 09053006772 and 08141656802. Candidates should use those official channels instead of paying an admission agent.
After submission, candidates should continue monitoring UNILAG’s official admission notices and JAMB CAPS. The October 6 deadline is for the university’s Direct Entry application; a submitted form is not yet an admission offer.
