Time
Performance Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
- demonstrate a knowledge of the idea of time.
- mention when certain things are done:
- Home
- School.
What is Time?
Time helps people know when to do different things during the day. It helps to organise daily activities.
Without time, it would be difficult to know when to wake up, when to go to school, or when to sleep.
Parts of the Day
A day is divided into different parts. Each part has its own special name and activities.
The main parts of the day are:
- Morning
- Afternoon
- Evening
- Night
Observe the image below, which shows the different parts of the day and what happens during each part.
Morning
Morning is the first part of the day. The sun rises in the morning, and the sky becomes bright. This is when people wake up and start their day.
Afternoon
Afternoon comes after morning. The sun is usually high in the sky during the afternoon. Many activities happen during this part of the day, especially at school.
Evening
Evening comes after afternoon. The sun begins to set, and the sky starts to get darker. People usually finish their work or school and go home in the evening.
Night
Night is the darkest part of the day. The sun is completely down, and the moon and stars can be seen in the sky. Night is usually the time for sleeping and resting.
