God Gives Us Good Things

God is very good to everyone. He gives us many good things every day. We can see proof of His goodness all around us.

One of the greatest good things God gives us is life. He created every person and gave them the breath of life. Because of God, we can wake up each morning, play with friends, and learn new things at school. The Bible tells us in Genesis 2:7 that God breathed life into the first man.

God gives us the gift of life and strength to play.

God also gives us good health. When children are healthy, they can run, jump, and learn without feeling sick. Even when someone feels unwell, God helps them to get better. Good health helps people to do their daily activities.

Another good thing God gives is protection. He keeps us safe from danger. For example, when we sleep at night, God watches over us. When we travel, He protects us from harm. In the Bible, God protected the Israelites from their enemies, as seen in Exodus 14:19-20.

God also provides many other good things we need. These include food to eat, water to drink, and clothes to wear. He gives us our families, friends, and teachers who care for us. He gives us sunshine and rain for plants to grow. These are all signs of God’s great goodness to us.

Why God Gives Us Good Things

God gives us good things for important reasons:

  1. He created us: God made every person in His own image. He is our Maker, and He cares for what He has made.
  2. We are His children: Just like parents love and care for their children, God loves and cares for us because we are His children. He wants the best for us.
  3. He loves us: God’s love for us is very big and never ends. Because He loves us so much, He always wants to give us good things.

Giving Good Things to Others

Since God gives us so many good things, we can also learn to give good things to other people. Giving good things to others shows love and kindness, just like God shows love and kindness to us.

Some good things children can give to other people include:

  1. Sharing toys: When playing with friends, children can share their toys so everyone can have fun.
  2. Sharing snacks: If a child has extra snacks, they can share with a friend who does not have any.
  3. Helping with tasks: Children can help their parents with simple chores at home, like tidying up their room or helping to set the table. They can also help a friend with school work if they are struggling.
  4. Kind words: Saying “thank you,” “please,” “I am sorry,” or giving compliments like “You did a good job!” are good things to say.
  5. Drawing pictures: A child can draw a nice picture for a family member or a friend to make them happy.
  6. Visiting someone who is sick: If a friend or family member is sick, a child can visit them to cheer them up, with an adult’s permission.
  7. Giving old clothes or food: With the help of parents, children can give clothes they no longer use or extra food to people who need them.

When children give good things to others, it makes both the giver and the receiver happy. It is a way to show God’s love to the world.
