Who Jesus Calls His Brothers and Sisters

Jesus teaches us that His family is not just about people who are related by blood. He says that anyone who does what God wants is like His brother, sister, or even mother.

In the Bible, Jesus once said that those who listen to God and obey Him are His true family. This means that when we do good things and follow God’s rules, we become part of Jesus’ special family.

God loves us all and wants us to be part of His family. When we believe in Jesus and follow God’s ways, we become children of God. This makes us brothers and sisters in God’s big family.

We are all brothers and sisters in God's family when we do His will.

Who Jesus Says Are His Friends

Jesus also tells us who His friends are. He says, “You are My friends if you do what I command you.” This means that to be a friend of Jesus, we need to listen to what He tells us to do and then do it.

Just like how we listen to our parents and teachers, Jesus wants us to listen to Him. When we obey Jesus, we show Him that we love Him and want to be His friend.

What Jesus Does for Us as Friends

Jesus does many wonderful things for us when we are His friends. He does not treat us like servants who do not know what their master is doing. Instead, He treats us like true friends.

As a good friend, Jesus shares important things with us. He tells us about God the Father and all the good plans God has for us. He helps us to understand God’s love and how to live a good life.

Jesus also helps us when we are sad or afraid. He guides us to make good choices and forgives us when we make mistakes. He is always there for His friends.

How to Become Jesus’ Friends

Becoming a friend of Jesus is simple, and it brings great joy. There are three main ways we can become His friends:

  1. By Loving God: We show our love for God by thanking Him for everything, praying to Him, and thinking about His goodness. When we love God with all our hearts, we become closer to Jesus.

  2. By Obeying God: God has given us rules in the Bible to help us live happily and safely. When we obey God’s rules, like being kind, sharing, and telling the truth, we are obeying Jesus too. This makes us His friends.

  3. By Keeping God’s Commandments: God’s commandments are like special instructions for living a good life. When we try our best to follow these instructions every day, we are showing Jesus that we want to be His friend. For example, being respectful to elders and helping others are ways to keep God’s commandments.
