The Attributes of God

God is wonderful and has many special qualities. These special qualities are called attributes. They tell us what God is like.

God is One

There is only one true God. He is the only God who created everything.

God is the Creator

God made everything we see and everything we cannot see. He made the world and all that is in it.

God is Invisible

God is spirit, so people cannot see Him with their eyes. Even though we cannot see God, we know He is real and He is always with us.

God is All-Powerful

God can do anything. There is nothing too difficult for God to do. He spoke, and everything came into being.

God is Everywhere

God is present in all places at all times. He is in the home, in the school, in the market, and everywhere else. God sees everything and knows everything.

Things God Created

God created many wonderful things. He made the world beautiful and full of life.

God created the sun, moon, stars, plants, animals, and people.

Some of the things God created include:

  1. The sun, moon, and stars: These light up the sky day and night.
  2. Plants: God made all kinds of plants, like trees, flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
  3. Animals: God created many different animals, such as birds that fly, fish that swim, and animals that walk on land.
  4. Man: God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, in His own image.
  5. Wind and air: We cannot see the wind, but we feel it. Air is all around us and helps us breathe.
  6. Spirit: God also created spiritual beings like angels.
  7. Mountains and rivers: God made the big mountains and the flowing rivers.

Reasons God Created All Things

God did not just create things for no reason. He had two main reasons for creating everything:

For His Glory

God created all things to show how great, powerful, and wonderful He is. When people look at the beautiful world, they can see God’s amazing power and wisdom. Everything God made tells us about His glory.

For Man’s Provision

God created many things to provide for people. He made plants for food, water in rivers for drinking, and animals for different uses. God made the world a good place for people to live and enjoy.

Reasons God Created Man

God created man in a very special way. He had specific reasons for creating people:

  1. To know Him: God wants people to learn about Him and understand His love.
  2. To love Him: God wants people to love Him with all their hearts.
  3. To worship Him: God wants people to praise Him and thank Him for all His goodness.
  4. To sustain and rule over all creatures: God gave people the job to take care of His creation, like the plants and animals. People are to be good managers of the earth.
