The University of Lagos has reopened another route into its School of Foundation Studies for the 2026/2027 session, giving candidates who missed the main application window a fresh opportunity. The UNILAG Foundation supplementary admission form opens today, October 5, and will remain available until Friday, October 23, 2026. The supplementary entrance examination is scheduled for Saturday, October 31.
This is not a Post-UTME form. The School of Foundation Studies runs UNILAG’s intensive one-year JUPEB programme. Students who successfully complete the programme and perform strongly in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board examination can be considered for Direct Entry admission into 200 level at UNILAG, subject to the university’s approved capacity and admission rules. The qualification can also be used for admission consideration at other JUPEB-affiliated universities.

Who Can Apply and What UNILAG Requires
Applicants need a minimum of five O’Level credits at one sitting, including English Language, Mathematics and three subjects relevant to the proposed degree course. UNILAG accepts SSCE/WASSCE, GCE O’Level and NECO results, but the result must already be available before registration. Candidates should not apply with an awaiting result.
The subject combination matters because it determines the degree programmes a candidate can later pursue through Direct Entry. UNILAG publishes the available JUPEB combinations on its Foundation Studies pages. Before paying, applicants should check the combination attached to their intended course instead of selecting subjects merely because they seem easier.
The application form costs ₦35,000 excluding bank charges and is non-refundable. UNILAG also requires applicants to use their names exactly as they appear on the NIN slip, birth certificate and O’Level statement of result. This is important because inconsistent names can create problems later when admission and JAMB Direct Entry records are matched.
The programme is intensive and non-residential. Candidates should also understand that passing JUPEB does not automatically guarantee admission into a preferred UNILAG course. The university says admission remains subject to programme capacity and may involve additional selection measures where the number of successful candidates exceeds available spaces.
How to Apply for the Supplementary Form
- Go to the official UNILAG Applications Portal.
- Select Start New Application and choose School of Foundation Studies from the prospective-student options.
- Read the subject-combination information for the degree programme you hope to enter later through Direct Entry.
- Complete the pre-application form with your names exactly as they appear on your NIN and other official records. The system will generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN).
- Use the PRN to pay the ₦35,000 application fee through the approved bank/online payment route.
- Return to applications.unilag.edu.ng and log in with the PRN as username and your surname in lowercase as the password.
- Complete every section of the application form, verify the information carefully and print two copies of the completed application.
- Watch the email address used for the application. UNILAG says the examination pass will be made available by email before the entrance examination.
For the supplementary exercise, the application deadline is October 23 and the entrance CBT is October 31. The School of Foundation Studies’ earlier examination format consisted of 85 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 45 minutes: English Language and Mathematics plus three subjects from the candidate’s chosen combination. Candidates should use the current supplementary examination pass and any fresh UNILAG instructions as the final authority for venue and reporting time.
Applicants who need clarification can contact the School of Foundation Studies through sfshelpdesk@unilag.edu.ng or the official support numbers +234 805 625 3631 and +234 802 075 8995 during office hours on weekdays. The safest application route is the university portal itself; UNILAG does not require candidates to pay an individual agent.
