Elements, Compounds, Mixtures and Their Differences for SS 1
An element contains one type of atom; a compound has chemically bonded elements, while a mixture contains substances…
States of Matter, Particle Theory and Changes of State for SS 1
Solids, liquids and gases differ in particle arrangement and movement. Heating or cooling can cause melting, freezing, evaporation…
Atomic Structure, Subatomic Particles and Electronic Configuration for SS 1
Atomic structure links proton number, nucleon number and electron arrangement. Isotopes of one element have equal protons but…
Laws of Chemical Combination and Valency for SS 1
The law of conservation of mass requires equal total mass before and after a chemical reaction. Valency helps…
Ionic, Covalent, Metallic and Weak Chemical Bonds for SS 1
Ionic bonds involve electron transfer and attraction between ions; covalent bonds involve shared electrons, while metallic bonds hold…
Chemical Equilibrium, Le Chatelier Principle and Equilibrium Factors for SS 1
Dynamic equilibrium occurs when forward and reverse reactions proceed at equal rates. Temperature, pressure and concentration can shift…
Gas Laws, Mole Concept and Gas Calculations for SS 1
Boyle's and Charles's laws relate gas pressure, volume and temperature. Mole calculations connect particle amounts to measurable quantities…
Acids, Bases, Salts, Indicators and pH for SS 1
