What Are Crafts?

Making Simple Crafts

Making simple crafts helps to use hands and minds to create something new. A simple craft that can be made is a paper chain.

How to Make a Paper Chain

A paper chain is a fun and easy craft to make. It uses simple materials and can be used to decorate a room or a classroom.

The required materials are:

  1. Coloured paper (different colours are good)
  2. Child-safe scissors
  3. Glue or tape

Follow these steps to make a colourful paper chain.

The procedure involves the following steps:

  1. Cut paper strips: Take a sheet of coloured paper. Use child-safe scissors to cut long, thin strips of paper. Each strip should be about 2 centimetres wide and 15 centimetres long. Make many strips from different colours.
  2. Make the first loop: Take one paper strip. Bring the two ends together to form a circle. Put a little glue on one end and press it onto the other end to make a strong loop. Hold it for a few seconds until the glue sticks.
  3. Link the next loop: Take another paper strip. Pass this new strip through the first paper loop. Then, bring the ends of the new strip together to form another circle. Glue the ends of this new strip together, just like the first one.
  4. Continue linking: Keep adding more paper strips in the same way. Pass each new strip through the last loop you made, then glue its ends together.
  5. Form a long chain: Continue these steps until the paper chain is as long as desired. Use different colours to make the chain look bright and beautiful.
